Angelo de Luca

Angelo De Luca is a jewelry designer based in Switzerland who was born in Italy in 1990. Since childhood, he has been fascinated by the radiant beauty of gemstones, the interplay of color and light, and the emotional power of fine jewelry. He has been living and working in St. Moritz since 2021.

Angelo, you often say, “The jewel chooses its wearer.” What do you mean by that?

Jewels possess an intense, intimate energy. A jewel should embody something deeply personal within the wearer—such as confidence, sensuality, or a secret. My goal is for collectors to feel more connected to the best aspects of themselves when they wear a piece of jewelry I’ve created. When that happens, you know the piece of jewelry has found its owner.

When did you first fall in love with jewelry?

It all began in my childhood. I was captivated by the jewelry my mother and her friends wore. Its sparkle made me feel safe and protected. Even as a child, I made jewelry out of all kinds of materials. Even today, I can’t walk past a jewelry store without stopping. For me, jewelry is the way I understand the world. It is an expression of emotion, memory, and identity. It is what I love most.
